About this deal

This time, though, I opted for William Russell, as Ian Chesterton telling us about the events of the two missing episodes while in his study, and I must say, it was lovely to see Russell back in character, reminiscing about his time with the Doctor. Instead, the lost episodes are represented by photo reconstructions combined with beautifully cleaned up soundtracks which were recorded off air and preserved by dedicated fans. Of course, Carole Ann Ford leaving the show upset Hartnell almost as much as Susan leaving her grandfather did, but Ford felt there wasn’t the type of character development she hoped for with Susan, and she was right.

I was expecting a drawn out fiasco to get some resolution but instead found instant refund with this more than fair top seller. While they successfully approximated the look and feel of furry butterflies, with gossamer wings for the Menoptera, and even the menacing, hard shelled ant appearance of the Zarbi, the end result for the Optera was more like a school play, with lots and lots of felt, but I sympathise. Billed as the biggest release yet, Season 2 is a limited edition nine-disc box set from the early years of the programme with William Hartnell in the role of the Doctor. com/products/doctor-who-william-hartnell-complete-season-2-blu-ray-23458 7162863714352 Doctor Who: William Hartnell Complete Season 2 (Blu-ray) 69.The J-card can be removed and optionally discarded, revealing the cover unencumbered by branding, logos or text. Panopticon Archive – footage from a convention panel in 1985, featuring cast from the Hartnell Era, is another notable highlight… particularly where individuals are no longer with us. Now and Then - A look back at the locations used in 1964 for the recording of this story, comparing and contrasting them to to how they appear nearly 40 years later. THE CRUSADE (another pure historical) is set during 12th Century Palestine at the time of King Richard the Lionheart's attempt to capture the Holy Land.

Personnellement je garde mon exemplaire parce que ce n'est pas trop grave, mais pour d'éventuelles personnes qui veulent collectionner, n'hésitez pas à renvoyer ! Derek Francis plays the Emperor Nero as a selfishly entitled schoolboy with a sadistic streak and is certainly memorable whether or not one appreciates the jokes. Episode 3 and 4 Reconstructions - The final two episodes of Planet of Giants were edited into a single episode for transmission. Panopticon Archive - DWASocial V interview panel featuring Jacqueline Hill (Barbara), Carole Ann Ford, Adrienne Hill (Katarina) and Michael Craze (Ben Jackson), recorded 6 April 1985. However, with its slave traders, poisonings, assassination attempts etc, a touch of the real world cruelty of 64 AD creeps into proceedings.Nostalgia and childhood re experienced Utterly brilliant to watch tv broadcast a couple of years before I was born. I think from episode one and three you get a good idea as to what these episodes might have looked like and although many criticise this set for not having animated episodes I do feel that the fans have made a rod for their own back in complaining about the standard of animation efforts in the past. However, the US version of the set did not use the corrected artwork, despite being a couple of months after the UK Release which had it fixed, resulting in Pertwee's face remaining flipped on the front cover. There is a wonderful and highly skilled team of people involved in bringing these discs to our shelves and our thanks have to go to all involved. Season 2 Documentary – As a nice end-cap, the cast and crew relive their experiences of creating the show during its second season.

The introduction of Peter Butterworth as The Monk is a sublime bit of casting within an excellent story.

Crisply directed by the brilliant Douglas Camfield, this story of an amoral time traveller trying to alter established history must have been a game-changer for the contemporary audience. l'heure où j'écris ce commentaire, il est sorti depuis deux mois la Season 9, (la Season 2 ici présente étant sortie juste avant) nous n'avons pas encore d'annonce concernant la prochaine sortie de coffret, mais j'espère que si la saison en question contient des épisodes perdus, ceux-ci seront bien évidemment animés et pas laissés comme The Crusade en "RECON". The youth, with some crazy alien eyebrows described being attacked by the old man like getting hit by a whirlwind. But then, there was a need for a second, totally different species that look like giant ants, massive, with hard shells which would require actors and stuntmen to be bent over at awkward, back-breaking angles for hours at a time.

The Chase also introduced new mechanical villains, the Mechonoids, who, it was hoped, would prove as popular as the Daleks. This short item uses an off-air audio recording and the original script to place the cut material in context within the story. Everyone who has watched any of the episodes has been impressed and no one has commented on the sound being pitched wrong, demonstrating that these discs have been pitch corrected (as I read elsewhere before I bought it).All the episode from the start of when David Tennent took over as the doctor and is also the last series to feature Rose Tyler :( some brilliant episode to watch in the series and a brilliant ending. According to the BBC, the plan was to continue to release the specially-packaged editions, but to rebrand them as "Doctor Who: The Collection Limited Edition Packaging". The Crusade has two episodes that are reimagined with stills from the story as they are missing from the archives. For Season 10, Jon Pertwee's face was reversed on the US cover - when the set was initially announced in the UK and the cover art revealed, someone on Twitter asked cover artist Lee Binding if he'd noticed Pertwee's face was reversed. In the UK, the initial Collector's Edition releases of each Collection set would sell out almost immediately, resulting in a high resale value.
