About this deal

Indeed most people who have worked with the Army in Northern Ireland know it as such and that is why I will use this name, even to describe activities in the mid 1970s before the Army adopted it.

It seems likely that it was incorporated into the Special Reconnaissance Regiment on its creation in 2005. The SRU works to a great extent on Special Branch information and the Special Branch have a high regard for it. Minister Roger Freeman confirmed the presence of 4 Field Survey Troop at Castledillon during this period in response to a question from Ken Livingstone in March 1988.The unit conducted undercover surveillance operations against suspected members of Irish republican and loyalist paramilitary groups. Defensive Brief D Meeting between the Prime Minister and the Taoiseach 5 April 1974 Army Plain Clothes Patrols in Northern Ireland, National Archives PREM 16/154. ch, by permission of the Centre for Security Studies at ETH Zurich and the National Security Archive at the George Washington University on behalf of the PHP network. With the MRF compromised, it was decided that a dedicated force of highly-trained plain-clothes surveillance operatives should be established for operations in Northern Ireland.

Military Intelligence (MI) Battalion is a regular Army unit under the operational command of 1st (UK) Division. Some terminology that may be used in this description includes: First Edition In book collecting, the first edition is the earliest published form of a book. The support element of the Battalion, enabling the outputs of the MI Companies and the Battalion Headquarters.

As it was co-located at Castledillon with an Engineer regiment, a second layer of cover was provided to satisfy soldiers of this regiment. One officer and 30 soldiers serving with the SRU since early January are due to resume service with 22 SAS by 7 April. LIFC provides fused, multi-disciplinary intelligence in support of Land Forces in the home base and on operations. In such a role, it is likely that 14 Company identified and tracked targets for SAS arrest operations such as Operation Tango.

The book covers her selection, training and the covert surveillance missions she undertook in Northern Ireland. Military Intelligence Headquarters is based in Upavon, It has units in Abingdon and and a Reserve Unit in Southampton. Even more amazing to consider that the Captain or Major at the controls would be commanded by Private/Able Seaman etc, their operational status overriding any concerns of rank.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Still it is extremely impressive, you get the idea that 14th Intelligence is about the closest thing you'll ever get to the real James Bond. The Battalion provides Military Intelligence support to the Army's High Readiness and Adaptable Forces, to the Firm Base and other specified Joint and Defence capabilities. Military Intelligence Battalion is a regular Army unit under the operational command of the 1st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade.
